Katrina Matejcik

Katrina’s background in architecture and set design sparked her fascination with how light transforms environments, a passion shaped by her upbringing in South Dakota’s dramatic landscapes. She holds a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Minnesota and an MFA in Interior and Lighting Design from Parsons, where she earned the IESNYC Merit Scholarship and the Thesis Prize for Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice. Since 2022, Katrina has taught in Parsons’ MFA Lighting Design Program, drawing inspiration from the balance between academia and her professional work at Loop Lighting.
